This curriculum was created to provide a model for educating judges, attorneys and other legal professionals about sexual orientation, gender identity and the needs of LGBT people in the legal system. It is intended to be used in conjunction with the accompanying PowerPoint presentation, which is also available for download at the link. Systemic bias and discrimination impede access to justice in the courts for LGBT people and people living with HIV; this is especially true for transgender people, people of color and others with multiple marginalized identities.
