The agencies that are included in this report come from various ends of the field including state and county child welfare agencies, private adoption or foster care providers, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs), and Adoption Exchanges. Each agency has completed ACAF’s Agency Self-Assessment (ASA), a comprehensive online tool that provides an organizational framework to review existing policies and practices and identify areas for improvement. Utilizing ACAF’s individual and group technical assistance, model policy language, and staff training, agencies implement a set of best practices to guide this systems change initiative. In total, over 9,500 policies and practices were assessed by the 172 participating agencies. [Summary from resource.]
