The Hennepin County Department of Community Corrections and Rehabilitation Office of Policy, Planning and Evaluation surveyed 150 youth to examine the role of trauma and violence on justice involved lesbian, gay, bisexual, questioning/unsure or asexual (LGBTQA) and gender non-conforming youth in Hennepin County, Minnesota. This report summarizes the survey’s findings. Information is provided as to how corrections agencies can better work with justice involved LGBTQA/GNCR youth and the importance of being a trauma informed organization.
